Overview
Cuba Relief
Cuba is reeling from several disasters in recent weeks including Hurricane Oscar, Hurricane Rafael, and most recently, a 6.8-magnitude earthquake.
The cumulative devastation has increased food insecurity and left the island largely without basic services like power and water.
The earthquake hit the Eastern side of the island about 40 miles south of Bartolome Maso, Cuba on Sunday, November 10th, 2024 with several aftershocks measuring up to magnitude 4.6.
Send Relief is responding through local partners and churches who mobilized within hours of the disasters to provide urgently needed assistance to families in the affected areas. Disaster relief response teams from Cuba’s Eastern and Western Baptist Conventions, along with Send Relief, Florida Baptists, and other partners, are in the early stages of response to the devastation left behind.
Your gifts to Send Relief’s Respond to Crisis – International fund will help provide food, water and shelter to communities recovering from the hurricanes and earthquake.
Thank you for praying for the people of Cuba as they process the physical and emotional devastation of these catastrophes. Recovery will be a long, on-going process and Send Relief is committed to staying until the job is done.
